I have been a full-time faculty member with WCC since 2007. During my time here I have served as the Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) Coordinator, the FaLaHum division representative on the curriculum committee, and have worked closely with our Accreditation efforts. For the past several years I have served on our senate as an at-large representative for all faculty, and 3 years as the senate vice-president. I am now finishing my final 2-year term as senate president. In my role as WCC’s Senate President I co-chair our Planning and Institutional Effectiveness committee and sit on numerous college and district governing groups. In Spring of 2021 I was elected as the newest North Representative for the Academic Senate for Community Colleges (ASCCC). ASCCC represents over 60,000 faculty across our system. This year I will chair the ASCCC Accreditation Committee and serve as a second-chair for the Legislative and Advocacy Committee. Previous to my election I served on numerous ASCCC sub-committees including: Legislative and Advocacy (2020-2021), Standards and Practices (2019-2020) , Accreditation (2018-2019), and Educational Policies (2017-2018). I also had the privilege to serve on four different accreditation visitation teams for other community colleges. I am excited and honored to be the President for our senate and look forward to working with all faculty to represent our voice as it relates to academic matters to support student success.
