Get free tuition with the College Promise Program!
The Woodland Community College Promise program will pay tuition for first-time, full-time students at any WCC campus including:
- Woodland Campus
- Lake County Campus
- Colusa Campus
Who is eligible for free tuition?
All first-time college students, including students who earned college units while still in high school who:
- Are attending any of our 3 campuses:
- Woodland Campus
- Lake County Campus
- Colusa Campus
- Are California residents or AB540 eligible.
- Complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application
- Enroll in classes and complete 12 to 15 units.
Is this program free for all students?
Yes, this program is not awarded on the basis of financial need.
What is covered?
The Promise program covers full-time enrollment tuition, up to 15 units per semester, for the Fall and Spring Semesters only.
Are my student fees such as health and course material fees covered?
No, you are still responsible for health fees, course material fees, books, etc.
How will tuition be paid?
Your student fees will be paid upon verification of the following three steps:
- Complete FAFSA/CADAA is received
- Promise Award eligibility is determined and awarded
- Full-time enrollment at the time of semester census
NOTE: No direct cash disbursements to students will occur.
Can I get my tuition paid if I take more then 12 units?
The Promise Award will cover only the first 15 units. Students will be responsible for paying for any units over 15.
How long is this program good for?
Assuming the student retains program eligibility, an eligible student may receive a Promise Award for their first and second consecutive year of enrollment.
How do I retain program eligibility?
A student may retain program eligibility by meeting all of the following criteria:
- Complete a FAFSA or Dream Act application each year.
- Maintain consecutive enrollment each primary term.
- **consecutive enrollment = be full-time (12+ units) for both fall & spring.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA every semester.
When do I need to apply?
The deadline for new awards is March 2nd.
