City Council Honors Men’s Soccer Team with Proclamation

This February, the Woodland City Council honored the WCC Men’s Soccer team with a proclamation to commemorate their championship season. The season was filled with “firsts” for the Woodland Community College men’s soccer team, including a first game, first win, first conference win and first winning streak. The Eagles wrapped up its inaugural season by securing the Bay Valley Conference Championship. The team also earned numerous achievements and conference awards:

·              Goalkeeper of the Year: Miguel Bustillos

·              4 First Team All-Conference Selections:

    • Cristian Garcia
    • Keoni Martin
    • Jose Alvarez
    • Ricardo Dias
  • 3 Second Team All-Conference Selections:

•              Ronaldo Huerta

•              Oscar Ayala

•              Marco Cervantez

  • Coach of the year: Andres Olmedo
  • Ricardo Diaz is in the process of accepting an offer to continue playing at a 4-year college.
  • Oscar Ayala has signed a professional contract in Mexico.

 

It was a historic year and an exciting way to kick-off WCC’s first athletic team.
