Your Priority Registration date is assigned based on your student status and you won’t be able to register before your specified date. Your priority is determined by things like the number of units you have already completed, if you’re enrolled in special programs, and/or registration eligibility.
Most new students (attending college for the first time) will be able to register on Day 6 after registration officially starts.
Log in to Self-Service and check your notifications for your “Priority Registration Date” as shown in the screenshot below.
Priority Registration notification in Self-Service
When you register for a class and all the seats are filled, Self-Service will place you on the waitlist, or if you register in person you will be asked if you want to be placed on the waitlist.
Being on the waitlist means that all seats in the class are taken, and you will be waiting for a seat to open up.
Then as students drop themselves out of the class, or are dropped for non-payment, seats will become available up until the Thursday before classes begin for the term.
The college will enroll students from the waitlist into the class automatically. As students are enrolled, students remaining on the waitlist will move up closer to the top of the list.
Once you are moved into the class from the waitlist, you will be notified that you are enrolled and have 10 calendar days to pay your fees.
Pay your fees right away within 10 calendar days, so you don’t get dropped from the class and lose your place on the waitlist.
If you do not want the class, you can go to Self-Service and drop it from your schedule; however, please keep in mind that you cannot be placed back in your previous position on the waitlist.

Dual Enrollment FAQs
Course offerings differ at the high schools throughout our three service areas in Yolo, Lake, and Colusa counties. We encourage students to check with their high school counselor to see what dual enrollment courses are offered and which work best with their goals.
Currently, the following participating high schools are offering courses on their high school campuses:
- Colusa High School
- Lower Lake High School
- Maxwell High School
- Middletown High School
- Pierce High School
- Pioneer High School
- Woodland High School
- Williams Junior Senior Early College High School
Yes! High school students can take dual enrollment courses tuition-free—the $46 per-unit fee is waived as long as you're enrolled in 11 units or fewer.
You may still need to pay for textbooks or course materials, depending on the class. However, many courses use free or low-cost textbooks, so be sure to check when you register.
There are many advantages to participating in dual enrollment. These include:
- Students who participate in dual enrollment throughout their high school years may be able to attain an Associate’s degree at the same time or shortly after graduating high school. Now that’s a head start!
- Students can accumulate college credits during high school FOR FREE which means they’ll have less classes to take and pay for later! Dual enrollment is a cost-efficient way to get ahead!
- Taking dual enrollment courses can also better prepare young students for the transition to college. Students can enroll in one or two college courses and get experience what college coursework is like.
