Michael White

Dr. Michael White, the President of Woodland Community College, was Reedley College’s Vice President of Student Services. Reedley College includes the Madera and Oakhurst Centers. White also served as the Reedley College interim President July 2012 to June 2013.

Dr. White previously served as Vice president of Student Services from 2009 to 2012 and was a faculty member, department chair, and coach from 1990 to 2009. He served in a variety of leadership capacities for Reedley College and the State Center Community College District, as Accreditation Liaison Officer, Student Success Committee chair, Strategic Planning Co-Chair, Enrollment Management Chair, and others.

With a professional career spanning over 30 years, Dr. White has instructional experience at the high school, community college, and university levels.

As interim President, Dr. White led Reedley College’s efforts resulting in removal from Warning status and reaffirmation of Accreditation. White has presented on college readiness topics, particularly for Hispanic Serving Institutions, at the California Community College Chancellor’s Office as well as at the CSU Fresno Carnegie Project. Dr. White is also a graduate of the prestigious Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Institute.

Dr. White received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at California State University, Fresno. White graduated with distinction from the University of New Mexico with a Master of Science degree in Physical Education, and earned a Ryan secondary teaching credential and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Davis.

Dr. White is married with two daughters. Wife Ruth, a retired K-12 Principal, daughter Lauren directs fund-raising projects for the Sacramento region’s American Diabetes Association, and youngest daughter Hayley is a student at Reedley College.
