Program Benefits

Free tutoring services for all enrolled students

The Student Success Center prepares you for successful academic careers by engaging in core subject areas and teaching life-long learning strategies that can be used across the curriculum. We promote and respect all aspects of diversity by finding innovative ways to assist students of different learning styles and needs.

Reading Support

Get help with academic reading and comprehension, including active reading strategies to improve retention, fluency, and understanding of course materials.

Writing Support

Receive guidance on writing assignments for any course—not just English—along with English language learner support and one-on-one assistance from trained tutors who understand academic writing.

Math & Science Tutoring

Students can get help with math at all levels as well as biology, chemistry, physics, and statistics through drop-in or scheduled group tutoring sessions.

Subject-Specific Tutoring

Students can request tutoring in a variety of other subjects, including accounting, computer science, history, music, political science, psychology, Spanish, and other courses.

Test & Final Review Sessions

Test preparation and final review sessions are offered through participating courses and instructors, with announcements shared directly in class.

Appointments & Drop-in

The WCC Student Success Center offers free drop-in, in-person, and online tutoring for all students.

  • Drop-in tutoring is available in-person and online (from 12pm to 2pm) on a first come, first served basis.
  • Online tutoring appointments are available for reading and writing for all courses, and subject tutoring for any subject.
  • In-Person tutoring is available at our Woodland Campus and Lake County Campus locations

To guarantee an appointment with a tutor, we recommend that you call 530-405-9699 or text us in advance or stop by the center to schedule an appointment.

Virtual Services

All hours of operation, contact information, and services noted for the WCC and LCC campuses are available for CCC students. CCC students will be served virtually for majority of tutoring services.
