During my undergraduate studies at UC Davis, I struggled in some science courses, which taught me that success comes from developing effective study strategies and not from being naturally good at a subject. What excites you about working in the SSC?: I’m looking forward to working at the SSC so that I can experience firsthand when someone overcomes a difficult practice problem or concept that they struggled with in lecture. We cover many topics in class, and I didn’t always get them right away when I was a student. I went to SI at least once a week and whether I was struggling with homework or just wanted to gain a deeper understanding, SI gave me a place to get more practice and feedback. I became a part of the community there and was able to connect with fellow students who are on the same track. For me, this is a great opportunity to give back and sharpen my own teaching skills simultaneously.
