Why Students Join SSS

Support that stays with you from first semester to transfer.

SSS and SSS-ESL are federally funded programs built around one goal: helping students earn an associate degree and transfer to a four-year institution. SSS serves degree and transfer students; SSS-ESL serves students who are also English language learners. Both tracks are free to participants.

Academic advising

Meet one-on-one with a counselor to choose courses, explore majors, and develop an Educational Action Plan.

Tutoring and workshops

Build skills in study strategies, time management, and career exploration with individualized support.

Financial guidance

Learn how to apply for financial aid, manage money, and access scholarships and loan information.

Transfer advising

Get help preparing for transfer and completing applications to CSU, UC, and private universities.

Personal counseling and mentoring

Receive guidance to overcome personal, financial, or psychological barriers.

College and cultural excursions

Join tours and events that expose you to four-year institutions and new learning experiences.
