Dare to Soar Employee Recognition Scholarship

Each year one deserving WCC student is awarded the $1,000 Dare to Soar scholarship. This scholarship gives priority to first-generation low income students overcoming particular life or academic challenges. Students apply for the Dare to Soar scholarship through established Foundation Scholarship Application processes found on the College web site.

The Dare to Soar scholarship selection task force is comprised of past employee recognition honorees and Dr. White as scholarship sponsor. You may recall that Paul Contini, Jolene Torres, and Ana Villagrana have been honored and pictures are prominently placed on a perpetual plaque in Building 100. This year’s honoree will join Paul, Jolene and Ana on that plaque and also serve on the Dare to Soar scholarship selection task force this spring.

The Dare to Soar employee recognition award is supported by the Woodland Community College Foundation (WCCF) and Board members select each year’s honoree.

Please take the time to nominate a Woodland Community College employee, either full or part-time, as this year’s Dare to Soar employee recognition honoree. Each year the selection task force will identify a College staff, faculty, or administrative member who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to our students and manifests the positive words upon the perpetual plaque: Your Attitude, almost always determines your altitude in life.

Dare to Soar Employee Recognition nominations will be accepted through February 28, 2019.
