Meet the Coaches

Read a bit about the Coaches for the Woodland Community College Athletics Program.

 Andres Olmedo is well-known in the Woodland and Davis soccer communities. He has been teaching in the Woodland District since 1998, with his coaching experience dating back to 1999 and his playing experience going back to the 1980s.  

He took the Woodland High School girls' soccer team to the playoffs from 2007 through 2011, with the team being recognized as the TCC League Champs in 2007. His teams also hold seven league titles and four section championships while also taking the NorCal Regional Championship.

His focus during the initial years of the program will be building a reputation within the Woodland community in hopes of recruiting more players

Alvarez, a former Sacramento State hornet, followed up a brilliant playing career by spending three years launching his coaching career in his hometown of Napa, Calif. He served as the Director of Boys programs at Napa Sport SC from 2020-22 and was an assistant coach at Napa Valley Community College in 2021-22, helping the Storm to their fourth consecutive Bay Valley Conference title.

He then took a position as a head coach at San Juan SC in 2022 in addition to his duties with the Hornets.

The past year he returned as Assistant Coach to his alma mater, Sac State.
