This course focuses on various dimensions of health promotion. Diversity of cultural and life experiences are explored with a focus on inclusion and equity across cultures and lifestyles. Topics covered include: nutrition, physical activity, cardio vascular disease, cancer, substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections, stress, anxiety, relationships, mental health, health across the lifespan, influence of diversity and equity on health, and analysis of peer reviewed research in applicable fields.

The analysis and evaluation of current practices and theories regarding nutrition and exercise and their relationship to weight control and physical fitness. Individualized exercise prescription, and nutrition analysis will be completed by each student.
