How to drop a class you no longer want to take
If you decide not to take a class, it’s important to officially drop it through Self-Service. Dropping a class by the deadline can help you avoid fees, a failing grade, or academic penalties.
Before You Begin
- Check the drop deadline on the academic calendar
- Meet with a counselor if you’re unsure how dropping will affect your education plan
- Be aware that dropping classes may affect your financial aid or academic progress
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Log in to Self-Service
- Go to https://login.yccd.edu
- Enter your Campus ID and password
- Select “WCC Self-Service for Woodland Community College”
2. Open Plan & Schedule
- Click “Student Planning”
- Select “Go to Plan & Schedule”
- Your enrolled classes will be shown on the schedule view
3. Drop the Class
- Find the course you want to drop
- Click the “Drop” button next to the course
- Confirm your selection when prompted
4. Confirm the Drop
- The class should be removed from your schedule
- Check the “Schedule” tab to verify that it no longer appears
Important Notes
- Drops before the census date will not appear on your transcript
- Drops after the deadline may result in a “W” (Withdrawal) on your record
- Refunds may be available if you drop early and submit a refund request
