Frequently Asked Questions

Question

How will I know if I didn’t qualify for financial aid?

Answer

If you’re not eligible for aid, you won’t receive an award letter—but you will be notified in Self-Service or by email. Common reasons students don’t qualify include:

  • Having too high a Student Aid Index (SAI)
  • Not meeting citizenship or residency requirements
  • Not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Missing the application deadline

Even if you don’t qualify for federal or state aid, you may still be eligible for scholarships or Woodland Community College Promise programs. Contact the Financial Aid Office to explore other options.
